Kids on the Hill
we know it best …
Very few, if any, journalists understand federal policy like FMC staff members do when it comes to child welfare and juvenile justice. Whether it is a new act of Congress or a seemingly insignificant federal rule change, FMC breaks the story and has the analytical chops to translate what the policy actually means for vulnerable families.
Out of this expertise Kids on the Hill was created in 2017. With the introduction of the Family First Prevention Services Act – the first major piece of federal child welfare legislation in three decades – there came a new opportunity to engage the public in an otherwise unexplored policy arena.
Today, FMC continue to leads the coverage of Family First as well as other federal policies that are critical to the wellbeing of families and children.
