Pack to the Future Backpack Drive

With only 70% of foster youth graduating high school by age 19, and only 24% going on to college at all, the challenges faced by these emerging adults are clear. FMC’s Youth Voices Rising Program works with community partners to support Los Angeles youth on their academic journey through Pack to the Future: A Backpack Drive for College-bound Foster Youth. This annual project will provide 200 high school and college students with the necessary resources to confidently begin their postsecondary education.

The second annual Pack to the Future Backpack Drive was held July 29, 2023 at Isana Academy in Los Angeles. Thanks to a generous donation from KB Home, we were able to provide laptops, microwaves, mine-fridges and other essential items to help college students feel prepared to live on their own while pursuing their education.
