Writing Opportunities

Our Youth Voices Rising program provides writing opportunities to young people who have had lived experience in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems. Participants learn how to produce journalism that allows them to have a more prominent role in the public discourse that shapes policy — and, ultimately, their lives.

Calls for submissions are posted in social media channels and in the YVR newsletters. Youth are invited to write about current events, policy issues, personal experiences and more.
